Tracking Turtles with Drones

An uncrewed aircraft system, or drone, operated by an Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) team has begun searching for threatened and endangered sea turtles beyond visual lines of sight (BVLOS). With a first-ever waiver from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration, turtle tech team members from ERAU can fly their fixed-wing Sentaero aircraft farther offshore.

Governor Ron DeSantis announced additional funding for nurses in this year’s budget for student loan reimbursement through the Nursing Student Loan Forgiveness Program (NSLFP). The Florida Legislature established the NSLFP in 1989 to encourage qualified personnel to seek employment in areas of the state where critical nursing shortages exist.
