An uncrewed aircraft system, or drone, operated by an Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) team has begun searching for threatened and endangered sea turtles beyond visual lines of sight (BVLOS). With a first-ever waiver from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration, turtle tech team members from ERAU can fly their fixed-wing Sentaero aircraft farther offshore.
