COUNTY COUNCIL APPROVES INCENTIVES FOR MANUFACTURER – The Volusia
County Council has approved $75,000 in performance job incentives for
CDC Enterprises, a company that intends to establish a manufacturing
facility in New Smyrna Beach. CDC Enterprises is a Minnesota
manufacturer of proprietary patented energy efficient products for
heating and air conditioning uses. The company anticipates hiring a
minimum of 125 employees over the next three years.
VOLUSIA COUNTY MANAGER DINNEEN TO ADDRESS VOLUSIA MANUFACTURERS –
Volusia County Manager Jim Dinneen will be the speaker at the Volusia
Manufacturers Association monthly dinner meeting at the Indigo Lakes
Golf Club April 22. Dinneen will discuss the county’s budget reductions.

COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TEAM IN DALLAS FOR SITE SELECTOR
NETWORKING – A team from the Volusia County Economic Development
Department has returned from a three-day networking event in Dallas with
national site selectors. The team met one-on-one with 15 site selection
firms to discuss opportunities in Volusia County. The event was
sponsored by Enterprise Florida, the state’s economic development
agency, and was attended by representatives from several other economic
development departments in Florida.
CANADIAN TRADE MISSION SCHEDULED IN FLORIDA -- The Innovation
Prince Edward Island (PEI) and the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency
has scheduled a trade mission to Florida May 10-15. Team Trade PEI will
conduct business-to-business meetings across the state. Companies in the
bio-science, aerospace, building and consumer products, and agri-food
processing sectors looking to do business in Canada are invited to

E-MAIL MARKETING TOPIC OF SEMINAR -- The Small Business
Development Center at Daytona State College will offer a workshop
titled: Getting started with constant contact/the power of e-mail
marketing. The session will focus on building lasting relationships with
clients with the best e-mail marketing practices and how to start an
e-mail marketing campaign. This free workshop will be April 26 from 9
a.m. to noon at Daytona State College, building110, room 112.

GOLF TOURISTS HAVE MAJOR ECONOMIC IMPACT IN REGION -- According
to Florida’s First Coast of Golf, data provided by five local tourism
bureaus shows that golf visitors had a $123-million impact on the
regional economy last year. A Golf Digest study ranked Northeast Florida
first for overall golf vacation experience in the state in 2009.
Florida’s First Coast of Golf is a not-for-profit group that represents
five counties from the Georgia-Florida border to northern Volusia
County, home of the LPGA.
WOMEN’S INCOME EXPECTED TO INCREASE SIGNIFICANTLY – The income of
women worldwide is expected to increase $5.1 trillion by 2013 to $15.3
trillion.
