New Economic
Quarterly publication to include broader content focus
While the
Volusia County Real Estate Journal has changed its name effective
with this edition, you actually are reading a new publication. As
the new name suggests, Volusia County Economic Development
Quarterly, is a publication that has been expanded to include news
and notes on a broader range of subjects affecting the economic
development process in Volusia County.
“The
reception that Volusia County Real Estate Journal has enjoyed since
it first published in 2003 has been very gratifying,” said Rick
Michael, Volusia County Director of Economic Development, whose
department conceived and publishes the piece. “However, we have had
many requests to expand our editorial profile beyond commercial and
residential real estate, including stories that add insight to and
understanding of economic development and news of past, present and
future projects.”
In response, Volusia County Economic
Development Quarterly has been created to include a broader range of
stories and some new advertisers.
Economic
Development Quarterly is compiled by the Volusia County Department
of Economic Development and writers close to the economic
development process create the articles for each edition. The
News-Journal’s Special Publications Department sells the advertising
and handles production of the piece. Circulation varies, but the
base circulation is 5,000, with most copies being mailed directly to
individuals with an interest in economic development in Volusia
County. This includes commercial and industrial prospects, economic
development consultants, site selection specialists, business media
representatives, government officials and more. Some bulk
distribution to chambers of commerce and other business resources
also is included.
Over the course of the year, efforts
are made to include stories from each region of Volusia County and
the committee presiding over editorial content in Volusia County
Economic Development Quarterly welcomes suggestions for stories.
