Daytona Beverage latest
company to move to growing Mason Avenue business area
Daytona
Beverage, a regional distributor for Anheuser-Busch, has moved into
a new headquarters and refrigerated distribution facility in a new
industrial park on the Mason Avenue extension in Daytona Beach.
Daytona
Beverage’s new 85,000-square-foot refrigerated distribution center
was built by Strasser Construction, Ormond Beach, and is the latest
industrial facility to locate in the Mason Avenue area. Piedmont
Plastics recently opened a 60,000-square-foot distribution center
and Consolidated Tomoka Land Company is building a first class,
campus-style industrial center called Gateway Business Park South.
“Daytona
Beverage and the commitment made by its owner Kevin Bowler to
construct a state-of-the-art distribution center is a real
compliment to the public investment Volusia County and the City of
Daytona Beach have made to open the Mason Avenue extension for
business development,” said Volusia County Economic Development
Director Rick Michael.
The
county Department of Economic Development has been busy along the
Mason Avenue extension since conception in 2003. “We are eager for
the start of construction of a 50,000- square-foot production
facility later this year for Ark Technologies, a Japanese-owned
automotive parts manufacturer,” Michael said.
Ark is
expected to begin construction my mid-year and plans to be in full
operation during the first quarter of 2007. The company is expected
to create up to 40 new manufacturing jobs in the Daytona Beach area.
