Growing Microflex needs more manufacturing space
Since its
creation in 1975, Microflex has become a leader in the
manufacturing of metal hose and braid, metallic expansion
joints, bellows and vehicle exhaust connectors.
The company’s rapid growth has created the need for yet
another expansion.
Microflex was founded by brothers Josif and George
Atanasoski who set up shop on Division Street in Ormond
Beach. By 1984, the company moved to a 35-acre parcel on
U.S. 1 in Ormond Beach, just north of Interstate 95. At that
time, the brothers Atanasoski built a manufacturing complex
of about 40,000 square feet. Two expansion projects since
then have increased the fully integrated manufacturing space
of Microflex to 100,000 square feet. “Continued growth has
warranted additional expansion,” said George Atanasoski,
executive vice president. “This time, we plan to build a
separate building that will increase our space by another
45,000 square feet.” |

The new building will house the company’s automotive products and
engineering operations.
The latest expansion project is undergoing design modifications, but
construction could begin this year. When completed it is expected
the Microflex workforce of 160 will increase to accommodate the
growing demand for Microflex products and services.
Microflex designs, builds, and operates the world’s most advanced
metal forming and braiding equipment. Its engineers develop products
specifically designed for quality and value in a variety of
applications. Microflex holds many manufacturing quality
certifications, including ISO9001, which assure customers of a
quality product, delivered on time. Microflex is heavily involved in
the design and manufacture of products for the automotive and
transportation industries.
The company’s experience and knowledge are invaluable to the
customers with high tech applications with exacting specifications
and extreme tolerances.
Some Microflex products are considered original equipment for
companies such as Rolls Royce, Lockheed Martin, Generac, Siemens,
Boeing and York International.
Microflex components and assemblies can be found in products
produced by Ford Motor Company, General Motors, CAT, International,
Detroit Diesel and Bluebird. It also serves companies in the oil
industry and is a military contractor. Microflex has provided
engineering services for Raytheon, Bechtel, Black & Veatch, NASA and
Chicago Bridge & Iron.
