Deltona
is located in southwest Volusia County near I-4. It was created as a planned unit development calling for 36,000 building sites in 1962. It became a city on December 31, 1995. Today, Deltona is Volusia County’s largest city. With a population of 69,543, Deltona is largely a residential community with workday commuters to Orlando, Seminole County and other Volusia County cities.
